Our appeal to the Nation is that We request you to support the cause of Mr. Gurbaksh Singh who is on indefinite hunger strike for the last 37 days at Mohali, demanding the release of Sikh prisoners who are languishing in jails, even after completing their life terms awarded by the courts. His health is deteriorating day by day.

In a Press Meet convened at the Press Club, New Delhi Mr. Jarnail Singh – Writer/Journalist said that Punjab has witnessed turbulent days for two decades. Mr. Gurbaksh Singh is on indefinite fast for the past 37 days and we have serious reasons to worry that the situation in Punjab will get worse again.
These prisoners are not even allowed to get parole. It is in the true interest of Punjab, and the country that the state government takes a sympathetic view, and release the prisoners who have completed their life terms. It is high time that the government constitute a review committee for all the cases.
The Chief Minister of Punjab should put pressure on the Chief Ministers of other states to get these prisoners released. If the butcher of 1984Kishan Lal can get release order, and TADA case against Sanjay Dutt be relaxed why not these innocent be released.

On this occasion, Nirpreet Kaur prime witness against Sajjan Kumar said that, the head of Sikh temple, Mr. Gurcharan Singh should take cognizance of this case.

Mr. Thirumurugan Gandhi of May 17 Movement, who came directly from Germany after attending the Permanent People’s Tribunal declaring Eelam Tamil Genocide expressed solidarity for Mr. Gurbakh Singh.

Mr. Birju Nayak of Lok Raj Sangathan expressed his solidarity with this case and said it is unfortunate that all the time minorities and weaker section are victims of human rights violations.

Mr. Raffiq Mullah of Social Democratic Party of India detailed how the government is targeting weaker sections of the people and expressed his solidarity too. The event was organized by United Sikh Mission.

Warm Regards
