The recently held Permanent People\u2019s Tribunal in Bremen, Germany declared unequivocally that the Sri Lankan government was guilty of committing Genocide against Eelam Tamils. The tribunal was chaired by Former Assistant Secretary General of UN Mr. Denis Halliday and 11 jurists \u2013 international scholars and legal experts on Genocide, passed the verdict. <\/p>\n
It is the first time that an opinion body of international stature recognized the Eelam Tamil tragedy as Tamil Eelam Genocide. The tribunal also declared that the governments of US, UK and India were complicit with the Sri Lankan government and aided it in perpetrating the Genocide on Eelam Tamils. The details of the Indian government\u2019s complicity in this Genocide will be presented at the press meet by Mr.Thirumurugan & Mr.Umar of May 17 Movement who were invited by the Permanent People\u2019s Tribunal to offer their submissions. <\/p>\n
